School History
The Notre Dame of Esperanza, Inc. is found in the municipality of Esperanza, province of Sultan Kudarat, Region XII Mindanao, Philippines. It was founded in 1963 by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate Fathers (OMI) through the most Reverent Bishop Gerard Mongeou, OMI with Rev. Father Donald Munday, OMI as the first director spearheading the project at the request of the Catholic Parents to ensure the Christians formation of their children within the context of academic program. The Notre Dame Of Esperanza, Inc. opens its door to non-catholic and Moslem students.
The Dominican sisters were invited by the Oblates Fathers to administer the school in 1970. In 1974, the sisters gave up the school to the diocesan Clergy of Cotabato (DCC) to the present.
It acquired its Government Recognition No. 55 series of 1966 on July, 1966 for the whole secondary Course.
At present, it is under Rev. Father Clifford Baira, DCC, the director/superintendent and Mr. Manuel Rey S. Beton, the principal. It has 26 members of the faculty and staff with a population of 737 students both Christians and Muslims.
It is known for its academic excellence and extra curricular activities. As a religious institution, it looks forward not only to the elite who can afford for an expensive education but also for the development of the less fortunate especially the out-of-school children and youth.
